I found an awesome spot to take some pictures of the kids. I was scoping out the area for some gorgeous leaves and found at the end of our cul de sac an empty lot full of trees, leaves and just enough light to make the leaves that fell to the ground almost glow. I am planning on going back to get some better shots of just the scenery to practice with my other lens.
Funny story: Notice the tree Lucy is sitting on? It was a fallen tree that got tangled up on other trees. Looked like a great spot for some pictures- I loved the light. Well, I did not anticipate how rotten it really was ... after we finished shooting, right before Lucy stood up (she was luckily sitting where she could still rest her feet on the ground) the tree came crashing to the ground! It split in half where she was sitting and made the loudest crash as the top which was probably 10 feet up, hit the ground!
What a doll. I like the close up the best. I am glad she did not get hurt when the tree crashed down. I bet she was startled.
